Crisis
While I encourage my clients to call if they need me, especially if a relapse is at hand, I cannot and do not guarantee a timely response. As such, I do not provide immediate mental health crisis response services.
If you are in a mental health crisis, my Crisis page lists some steps that may help you find the right crisis resources.
If you cannot wait to get help, call 911 immediately.
Appointments
Sessions typically last 50 minutes unless otherwise arranged.
Please arrive on time to maximize the benefits of your session.
See below for more information about telehealth appointments.
Cancelling + Rescheduling: 24-Hour Minimum
Cancelling and rescheduling therapy and coaching appointments must be communicated at least 24 hours before the previously scheduled session or you will be charged the full fee for the missed session. I intentionally keep a small caseload so that I have adequate time to focus on my clients not only during sessions, but in between. Time is sacred; I want to honor your time as much as you likely want your time honored.
If you have a chronic illness or are otherwise disabled and have frequent flare-ups that interrupt your life, I hope that we can keep your session time sacred as well. Virtual services allow us to keep appointments more easily when feeling ill, and such moments can provide ample opportunity for great sessions. Because my services are private pay, I am able to offer other accommodations as well for when flare-ups inevitably occur, like audio-only sessions. I would be happy to discuss this with you anytime.
Confidentiality
Your privacy is of utmost importance to me. All sessions and records are confidential and will not be disclosed without your written consent, except where required by law or in circumstances of potential harm to yourself or others.
Feedback
I treasure feedback. If you have any concerns about your treatment, please discuss them with me. I offer regular surveys for my clients to provide feedback so I can better hone their treatment and my practice . However, if you ever have concern about our sessions or my approach, it is my sincere hope that you disclose such concerns to me in session.
Fees: Therapy and Coaching
My fees are set when we begin our work together and will not change. For transparency, I list my fees on the Rates page. Although the rates I list on my website are subject to change based on numerous factors, my rate will not increase from the rate discussed during the free phone consultation. The only exception to this would be if you want to bring in other people into your sessions, which we would discuss well before any fee changes would take effect.
Fees: Sliding Scale for Therapy
I offer a sliding scale for 25% of my therapy clients that starts at $125 per session. “Sliding scale” means that I offer the same services for a rate based on your income level. If you’re interested in sliding scale, please inquire during our phone consultation. If a slot is available and your reported income is in the appropriate range for sliding scale fees, that fee will be set and not change during treatment. The only exception to this if if a client’s income level changes during treatment. If so, we would discuss well before any fee changes would take effect.
Fees: Consulting
The hourly consulting rate listed on the Rates page is specific to a limited, one-off engagement providing subject matter expertise to a corporate client. However, for more ongoing projects, I work with prospective consulting clients to choose the fee structure most appropriate for their needs. Just as I provide a sliding scale for therapy and coaching clients, my consulting fees and fee structure are heavily dependent on multiple variables including the client type, budget, and project scope and length. Most of my clients are either on an hourly rate, project-based rate, or combination of the two, but I am happy to discuss other potential arrangements that may better meet your needs.
Insurance + Reimbursement for Therapy
I am not currently paneled with any private insurance provider or public payor like Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid, or Medicare. I am happy to provide clients with statements they can submit to their insurance plan or employer for reimbursement.
Telehealth
My practice is currently fully virtual. I do not see clients in person at this time. If that should change, I will notify my clients and update my website. All sessions are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing.
Termination
It's essential for therapy to be a mutual agreement. Clients or therapists may terminate therapy if they believe it's not a good fit or no longer beneficial. If termination is indicated, we will discuss the best course of action to wrap up our work together (e.g., how many more sessions will be best, how we will spend our time during those sessions, what’s next, etc.). Termination often involves a couple of sessions to process and conclude treatment, identify any potential resources and referrals to other professionals who might be a good fit for your needs.
