However, just as explorers rely on trusted guides when charting unknown territories, a supportive therapist can be invaluable in navigating the nebulae of one’s experiences.

Intake Session(s): Setting Our Course

After our phone chat, we'll pencil in our first session, or as it's commonly known, the intake session. Here, we'll delve into various realms:

  • Medical and family history

  • Current concerns prompting therapy

To ease the journey, you'll receive confidential forms via a secure portal in advance. And because we're covering a lot, we can split this session into two parts. By round two (Intake: The Sequel), we'll flesh out our "treatment plan" – the star map for our collaboration.

Note: Our maps aren’t static! We'll keep fine-tuning ours as we journey together.

Ongoing Sessions: Entering Deep Space

This is where the truly awesome happens. It’s our space for exploration, reflection, and discovery.

Termination: Celebrating the Journey

Termination isn't just a technical term; it signifies a turning point in our journey together. As we approach this milestone, it's a time for reflection, consolidation, and celebration. Here’s what this phase typically looks like:

  • Reflection: We’ll take stock of where we started, the strides made, and the challenges faced. This retrospective can be empowering, providing a clear picture of the growth and progress achieved.

  • Setting Future Goals: While our formal sessions might be concluding, your personal growth journey continues. We'll collaboratively set future goals, charting a course for continued self-discovery and resilience.

  • Transitioning: Change, even positive change, can be challenging. I'll provide resources, recommendations, and support to ensure this transition is smooth, whether you're taking a break, shifting to a maintenance schedule, or venturing out on your own.

  • Open Door Policy: Termination doesn’t mean goodbye forever. Should you ever feel the need to revisit, refresh, or simply touch base, know that my door is always open for you.

Remember, every journey, no matter how profound, has its moments of closing one chapter and beginning another. Termination is a testament to your strength, resilience, and the evolution of your story.
